Series 200 Torque Limiter Selection Method - Data required for Torque Limiter Selection: Horsepower / Kilowatts and rpm of the drive Shaft details of the driving and driven equipment 1) Calculate the maximum Torque as follows: Torque (Nm) = kW x 9550 / rpm or Torque (in-lbs) = H.P. x 63025 / rpm Consideration should be given to starting torque particularly if the torque limiter is positioned close to the motor. This may be up to three times the normal running torque. 2) From the table below choose the unit size and spring code required for this calculated torque taking into account the maximum bore of the unit.
Torque Adjustment:
The unit will be dispatched from our factory with
the torque setting requested. Calibration spacers are supplied to
prevent this setting being exceeded. If no specific setting is
requested, a spacer is fitted which will prevent adjustment over the
maximum capacity of the spring.
